The inaugural conference and technical seminar of the Wide Bandgap Semiconductor Working Group, part of the National Integrated Circuit Standardization Technical Committee, took place in Beijing on March 20, 2026. Attendees included Wang Shijiang (Deputy Director General, Electronic Information Department, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology), Zhu Shaoxin (Deputy Director, Integrated Circuit Division), Sun Xiaohui (Principal Staff Member, Department of Standardization Technical Management, State Administration for Market Regulation), and Guo Nan (Vice President, China Electronics Standardization Institute).The event was chaired by Zhang Yuqin, Secretary General of the National Integrated Circuit Standardization Technical Committee.

At the meeting, the establishment of the Wide Bandgap Semiconductor Working Group was officially announced. It was clarified that the Working Group will focus on improving the wide bandgap semiconductor standard system, accelerating the development of key standards, and promoting industrial collaboration as its core directions, thereby supporting the standardized, systematic, and high-quality development of China's wide bandgap semiconductor industry.

Zhang Bo, Chairman of Boncom (Jiaxing) Semiconductor Technology Co., Ltd., was appointed as a member of the first session of the Working Group. A representative from Boncom was invited to attend the conference.
